Part of the groupshow "Dislocating Surfaces – New Scandinavian Photography".
at Kunstnernes Hus in Oslo. May 13 – June 26 2016
A photogram of polarized light, made in the blind, when developed, emerges with a resemblance to a portrait of Dora Maar by Picasso (1938). The image is then channeled through a thought-chain process, like a Chinese Whispers game of one, grounded in formal tendencies of the medium (artist) and guided by Brian Eno/Peter Schmidt’s Oblique Strategies (1975) drawn at random.
One shapes the next that reshapes the first, and so forth.
Gardening, not architecture.
